About RevampMac

The RevampMac group is comprised of University of Oregon students (check out our personal bios to learn more about each of us individually) who are focusing ten weeks on the following topic:

The Progress or Preservation in Local Development of Eugene Oregon

We find this topic crucial to the future of sustainable community in Eugene, Oregon. Currently, the infamous Mac Court’s future is being questioned by the Eugene community with the newly developed Knight Court that will be the home of the Ducks basketball team during the future seasons. As well, the downtown Eugene area is deteriorating in both aesthetics and cultural life. There are open ‘pits’ that are empty lots between buildings causing eye sores to those strolling down the streets of what used to be a cultural center.

The RevampMac group is committed to learning what the University of Oregon and Eugene Commissions are planning to do about the future of these locations. We would also like to learn what members of the University and Eugene Community want to see happen within their neighborhood.

The RevampMac group will adhere to the following policies and comment corrections during the span of this project:

1) RevampMac will not delete, edit, or alter comments posted by viewers on this blog unless the comment is a direct threat or deemed inappropriate for the topic of our blog posts.

2) We will release information on all sources used in our work if requested and not already stated in the blog.

3) RevampMac will make it our first priority to report on the truth and factual evidence of the subjects proposed.

4) RevampMac accepts any and all suggestions and comments from readers as long as their are appropriate and non-threatening.

5) We reserve the right to edit our blog for content if needed, but we will always make note of it for our readers.

6) Finally we reserve the right to write what we, the RevampMac group, wish to write while maintaining the integrity of the Journalism School of the University of Oregon.
